Simon Property Group Inc., the nation's largest shopping mall owner, said it completed the $2.3 billion purchase of Prime Outlets Acquisition Co. after a review by federal antitrust officials delayed the transaction.
Business news briefs
The H.J. Heinz Co. reported first-quarter net income of $240.4 million, or 75 cents per share, compared with net income of $212.6 million, or 67 cents, in the same period a year earlier. The Pittsburgh food company, which had previewed its results on Tuesday as part of its annual meeting presentation, said total sales rose 1.6 percent to $2.48 billion, compared with $2.44 billion a year ago.
